The Ministry of Education has introduced significant changes in the terms of winter holidays (ferie) in schools: now there will be not four, as before, but three.
As reported by Yavp.pl, in addition to reducing the number of terms, the ministry shuffled the voivodeships where winter holidays will take place at the same time. This can significantly impact tourist traffic and the organization of winter recreation. As a result of such changes, for example, Podlaskie and Warmian-Masurian voivodeships will no longer have fixed ferie terms.

Here are the new terms for winter school holidays in Poland in 2026:

January 19 - February 1, 2026: Masovian, Podlaskie, Pomeranian, Świętokrzyskie, Warmian-Masurian voivodeships;

February 2 - February 15, 2026: Kuyavian-Pomeranian, Lesser Poland, Lower Silesian, Łódź, Opole, West Pomeranian voivodeships;

February 16 - March 1, 2026: Lubusz, Greater Poland, Lublin, Subcarpathian, Silesian voivodeships.

The dates for winter school holidays in Poland in 2027 are also already known. So, if someone can plan various trips/vacations so far in advance, take advantage:

January 18 - January 31, 2027: Podlaskie, Subcarpathian, Lower Silesian, Łódź, Opole, Silesian voivodeships;

February 1 - February 14, 2027: Masovian, Pomeranian, Świętokrzyskie, Lublin voivodeships;

February 15 - February 28, 2026: Lubusz, Greater Poland, Warmian-Masurian, Kuyavian-Pomeranian, Lesser Poland, West Pomeranian voivodeships.
