Sudden drop in gas mileage

Hii..

So I drive a 2013 ford taurus sel edition. I get about 21.7/21.6 mpg normally. Now im getting 21.4/21.3 mpg. Well about 2 weeks ago my check engine light came on,so I borrowed a friend\'s tester and it spit out a code, that said something about emissions and my catalytic converter. Unfortunately I don\'t remember the code. Anyways now all of a sudden I\'m using a lot of gas. Like I drove 5 miles and my miles before E said that I used 15 miles when i know for a fact I did not drive even close to 15 miles. The closest mechanic is about a hour and a half away, I was hoping someone would know what this is?

Please help.

I didn\'t find the right solution from the Internet.
